DQ380 / DQ381 DSG Gearbox Overview
VW launched the first 7-speed DSG units in 2008, but demand for a smaller gearbox capable of handling modern hybrid torque led to the DQ380 / DQ381. The DQ381 (0GC) was developed for the European market in 2017, replacing the ageing DQ250 6-speed gearbox, and is now fitted in many Volkswagen Group models.
